Bahujan Samaj Party

Till the time we won't be successful in politics and not able to have power in our hands, the social and economic transformation is not possible. Political power is the key to success.

* Saheb Kanshi Ram *

A form and a method of Government whereby revolutionary changes in the social life are brought about without bloodshed.

* Baba Saheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar *

The ideology of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is "Social Transformation and Economic Emancipation" of the "Sarwjan Samaj" and is working on the concept "Sarwjan Hitaye Sarwjan Sukhaye", which comprises of the Scheduled Castes (SCs), the Scheduled Tribes (STs), the Other Backward Classes (OBCs) and Religious Minorities such as Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Buddhists etc. and the weaker section belong to general category.

The people belonging to all these classes have been the victims of the atrocities in the country for thousands of years, under which they have been vanquished, trampled upon and forced to languish in all spheres of life. In other words, these people were deprived from the human rights.

They hold Baba Sahib Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, champion of deprived class rights, as one of their key icon and ideological inspiration. Many of them, especially upper caste Hindu doubt that BSP is an anti-upper caste party which is purely a propaganda. BSP believes in egalitarian society and equality. in 2008 while speaking on same BSP National President Kumari Mayawati said "Our policies and ideology are not against any particular caste or religion. If we were anti-upper caste, we would not have given tickets to candidates from upper castes to contest elections". In fact, Satish Chandra Mishra and many Upper castes Hindu are in various positions in BSP. The party also believe in egalitarianism and hold a strong emphasis on social justice.

Among the great persons (Mahapurush) i.e. Gautam Buddha, Guru Ravidas Ji, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Guru Kabir Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj, Mahatam Jyotiba Phulle, Narayana Guru, Periyar E.
